Richard Schramm, Tara Symancyk and Mark Klampert have over 60 years of combined experience in family dental care. Here, you can learn more about the doctors and our friendly team!
Originally from Worcester, MA, Rick graduated from Assumption College with a BA in Natural Science, and later from Boston University Dental School with a DMD degree. He moved to Vermont in 1987, the same year he married his wife Maria. He worked in Woodstock, VT and White River Junction, VT for ten years before partnering with Mark in 1998.
Rick and Maria have two children, Alex and Mikayla. Rick enjoys spending time with his wife and children, and also likes camping, fishing, and being outdoors. He is happy to serve the community one smile at a time!
Tara grew up in Sharon, Vermont and graduated from Hartford High School. She earned a BS in Neuroscience from St. Lawrence University and attended the University Of Buffalo School Of Dental Medicine where she received her DDS in 2011. She then spent a year completing a general practice residency at the Togus VA Medical Center in Augusta, Maine.
Tara married her High School sweetheart Anthony, and together they have a daughter, Ava. Since both Tara and Anthony grew up in the Upper Valley, they spend lots of time with their extended families.
Tara looks forward to the opportunity to serve the Upper Valley community ever day and enjoys meeting all patients age 1-101.
A native of New York City, Mark attended Hofstra University in Long Island, where he graduated with a B.A. in Biology. After completing his undergraduate studies, he studied at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. A few years after receiving his degree in general dentistry, he moved to White River Junction where he set up his own dental practice in 1974, and he has been working at this family dental office ever since.
Mark currently resides in Quechee, Vermont, with his beautiful wife, Lorraine, and their daughter, Cierra. He has a son, Rahm, from his first marriage, and two grandchildren, Judah and Alexis. He is also step-father to Lorraine’s children, Chelsea and Sage. Family has always been an important part of his life, and he takes great pride in serving families in the Upper Valley.
When Mark is not at the office, he enjoys oil painting, landscape gardening (you should see his backyard!), reading, movies, and TV. He also loves to travel, and has ventured through Central America, all across the United States, Europe and Asia, and has made three trips to Israel.
Mark is a friendly dentist with a great sense of humor and love of people (and teeth).
Ashley Anderson hails from Chester, Vermont, where she graduated from Green Mountain High School in 2006.
Ashley was hired in 2007 as our Sterilization Assistant and once she entered the field of dentistry, there was no stopping her. Ashley became licensed as a dental assistant and worked with both Drs. Klampert and Schramm for several years. To complete her dream to continue in the dental field, Ashley enrolled in Vermont Technical College's Dental Hygiene School. After graduating in 2015, Ashley became part of our Hygiene team.
When she is not sharing her love of dentistry, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family and exercising to stay strong and fit.
Carol grew up in Cape Cod, and then lived for 22 years on the coast of Maine before traveling in-land. Her love of science and meeting people led to an interest in Dental Hygiene.
She is a UVM graduate; earning Associate Degrees in both Science and Dental Hygiene. Carol has two grown children and one grandchild who live in California. When she is not traveling to visit them, Carol enjoys the outdoors and participates in many sports from snowshoeing and Cross-country skiing in the winter, to hiking and bicycling in the spring and summer.
Carol enjoys learning new techniques via continuing education classes, and in turn, educating and visiting with her patients.
Tara is a native Vermonter who grew up in West Topsham, VT. She graduated from Oxbow High School in Bradford in 1992 and from the UVM Dental Hygiene Program in 1994.
Tara lives in Ryegate with her husband Troy and three children; Alaura, Bailey and Princetta and two miniature Schnauzers. Tara enjoys being outdoors; she and her family go camping, hunting, fishing, kayaking, skiing and snowshoeing.
Her favorite part of being a Hygienist is learning about her patients. She enjoys talking about their families and hearing their life stories.
Danielle grew up in Windsor, VT where she graduated from Windsor High School class of 2012 and met her husband Connor Collins. Danielle then went on to get her Bachelor's of Science in Dental Hygiene, graduating in 2016 summa cum laude from Weber State University in Utah.
Danielle enjoys spending time outside any way she can including hiking, paddle boarding, cross country skiing, snowboarding or just taking a walk through Paradise Park.
Her favorite part of being a hygienist is preventive education and helping her patients achieve a healthy and beautiful smile.
Beth was raised in Windsor, VT and went to Windsor High School, graduating in 1984. Over the years of raising four wonderful boys, she discovered a passion for power lifting, boxing and hiking year round.
She began as a dental assistant many years ago and has been with White River Dentist since August 2015.
Beth enjoys the best things in life; her family, grandchildren, being outside and experiencing new adventures.
Emi hails from Orford, NH. She joined our team in December of 2019 as the sterilization assistant and quickly took to the field of dentistry. Soon after Emi joined our team, she learned the role of dental assisting and found it was something she enjoyed immensely.
She can now be found in a number of roles throughout the office including sterilization assistant, dental assistant, and even front office staff depending on the day.
In the summer, Emi enjoys spending time at her longtime family friend’s campground or on the lake. She also loves spending time with her yellow lab, Oakley.
Katelyn joined our team in February of 2018. She was born and raised in Sharon, Vermont and graduated from The Sharon Academy in 2010.
Katelyn lives in Windsor, VT with her husband Robbie, daughter Kinslee, and their siberian husky/arctic wolf mix, Max. They are in the middle of searching for a piece of land in Vermont to build their forever home on.
You may think that Katelyn looks very familiar, and that would be because she and Dr. Symancyk are sisters! Katelyn feels very fortunate to be able to work alongside her older sister.
Manya is a Lebanon native. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1996 and then attended Laconia Technical College, where she received an Associate’s Degree in Graphic Design. Manya started her dental career working as an Oral Surgeon Assistant and has been a Dental Assistant for the past seven years. Her favorite part of the job is chatting with the patients and making them feel comfortable and confident with their treatment.
In the summer, Manya enjoys spending her off time camping with her husband Brian and their beloved Persian Mooshy Pie. In the winter you can find her snuggled up with a good book or in the garage working on a carpentry project. Either way it’s all about family and fun for her.
Lynn Monarque, a New Jersey native, moved to Vermont in 2004. She and her husband Rick have been married since 1976; they have two children and three grandsons.
Lynn’s favorite part of her job is chatting with patients. She enjoys getting to know them and their families. Her calm demeanor and ready smile are reasons why patients often linger to visit with Lynn long after their appointments have ended!
Lynn and Rick enjoy their weekends together hiking, snowshoeing and spending time with their grandsons. They also enjoy day-trips visiting new and familiar parts of New England.
Anthony was raised in Hartford, VT and graduated from Hartford High School in 2003. He continued his education, receiving a Bachelors degree in Economics from St. Lawrence University in 2007. Dr. Tara made Anthony the luckiest guy in the world by agreeing to marry him in 2010; they were High School sweethearts.
When Anthony is not working, he enjoys spending much of his free time outdoors hunting, fishing and hiking.
Anthony enjoys learning more about the dental field and being part of the team here at White River Dentist. He strives to ensure our office runs as effectively as possible.
