Debridement?

What is a Full Mouth Debridement, and what happens after it is completed?

A Full Mouth Debridement is necessary when too much plaque, calculus or deposits are present, and the Dentist cannot fully examine your teeth and tissues. The Dentist or a Dental Hygienist will use ultrasonic and hand instruments to remove these deposits, but the amount of time needed to complete this procedure, as well as the difficulty are different for each patient. Once the full mouth Debridement has been completed, you will be asked to return within one month so your Dentist may complete your oral evaluation and determine your periodontal status.
